colour pallet

Image
Through out the film, my aim was to have one colour pallet, but change the hue and luminance through out the film to result a contrasting result, making the film more surreal and expressional   my colour pallet will consists of the colour red, baby blue, baby pink and green  at the start> ACT1, the colour grading will be warm tones, saturated and bright. Reflecting the innocent feel of my protagonist youth, but also to mirror a encouraging feel to it.  ACt2> when the climax approaches, the luminance and hue of the colour pallet will change to a more blue/green tint, highlighting the red (as they are opposite colours) creating a more gritty and raw feel, reflecting the damage in my protagonist mind. The green grittiness will escalate more and more to liberate on how she feels  ACT3> at the end, when we are back in reality, or her reality now, the colour pallet is faded and is the total opposite of how the film started. This is to embody how her co...

sound design

Image
My film will be heavy in voice over, as my Protagonist is acting as a 'story teller'. Her emotions, the sound in her voice will help manipulate the audience to feel what she is feeling and empathize with her.  diegetic sound Diegetic sound is an important element in my film, as the visuals will be heavily stylized. so by hearing what we are seeing, will help intensify the experience and feel more driven with the narrative. The diegetic sounds will include sounds of her biting foods, cutting foods etc. I will record the sounds separately on my phone to get a clear and crisps sound  Non dietic sound  I am intending to add non deigetic sound in later scenes in ACT1, in ACT 2 and perhaps in ACT3. my aim for my sound design is to mimic as if we are inside my protagonist head, hearing, seeing and feeling how she does.   For example,  the scene where my protagonist says "my nans favourite, if you eat fish you will become smart" I have chosen to add a tv/ ra...

Location Rec

Image
The location that I have chosen are all interior settings. For example, the locations that I have stated in my script are dinning table, unknown space, living room etc. The choice of using interior location makes it easier to control and adjust the lighting, and it also made it more suitable for me to build my own set to fit my story narrative and mood. The use of an interior setting also adds to the emotion of feeling trapped and imprisoned that the protagonist (Krittika) feels by the words and sayings that she remembers and still feels controlled by.  Example of location,  Dinning Table Dining table-day.  By using an interior setting, allows me to build my own set such as using cloth as a backdrop to reflect the mood of the film, and add to the aesthetic and colour scheme of the film, but it also allows me to add essential props to the setting such as a table, fishbowl etc, which would've been harder to use if I had chosen a location that was outside. My setting is near...
